Solubility of Barium Sulfate in Sodium Chloride Solutions from 25° to 95° C.
C. C. Templeton
J. Chem. Eng. Data 1960, 5, 4, 514–516
Barium was determined by a spectro-graphic method. The coefcient of variation was 5% when the barium content exceeded 3.0 mg. per liter; the sulfur was determined by a microreduction-colorimetric method.
Synthesis of Barium Sulfate Nanoparticles and Nanofilaments in Reverse Micelles and Microemulsions
Jeremy D. Hopwood and Stephen Mann
Chem. Mater. 1997, 9, 8, 1819–1828
Nanoclusters of amorphous barium sulfate, 2−4 nm in size, were formed in association with BaNaAOT reverse micelles. In contrast, highly elongated filaments of crystalline barium sulfate, with lengths up to 100 μm and aspect ratios of 1000, were formed in BaNaAOT microemulsions.
